Our supplier, Zamorano Caballer, S.A. founded in 1877 is located in Valencia, Spain.  By agreement, we are the sole importer of this product line in North America.

A significant portion of our work involves representing Canada at international competitions. A part of the judging in these events is based upon the quality of shells used in the presentation.  Ultimately a design and the end-result in the sky can only be as good as the products used.  This is one of the reasons that we select the best products available, regardless of their country of origin.

We have performed extensive tests of shells with manufacturers other than Caballer The way we test shells is to bring them to a site along with shells from Caballer.  We proceed to shoot a single shell from company X, followed by a similar effect shell of the same caliber from Caballer.  This process is repeated through the entire range of calibers and effects available.
 
After years of research we have concluded that the quality of shells produced by Caballer is superior to that of most manufacturers.  Among the most important factors by which a viewing audience can judge the quality of a display shell are:

1) Diameter of effect display;
2) Duration of effect display;
3) Colour quality;
4) Manufacturing quality.

Bombs and Components

What we have found with all manufacturers we have tested, compared to Caballer, is:

1) The effect diameter of Brand X is one caliber smaller than Caballer.  For example, a 6” Brand X shell has the effect diameter of a Caballer 5”. 

2) The effect duration of the shell is another barometer of shell quality.  Brand X products often do not display for as long a period of time as Caballer.

3) The display colour of Caballer products is outstanding.
