Celebration of Light Documentary

During the festivities, the award winning filmmaker J.B. Sugar was asked to produce a 24 minute documentary covering each of the three teams, Vietnam, Brazil, and Italy, as the competition took place.

International Music Fireworks Festival Invitational Contest

From September 29th to October 27th the International Music Fireworks Festival Invitational Contest, organized by National Day fireworks committee will provide a music and fireworks show with competitions between 5 Taiwanese teams; Ju Shiu, Shan Tai, Qi Wei, Kulu Ma, Si Yuan, and Yongfeng, and 10 foreign teams; Italy, the United States, Argentina, Kazakhstan, mainland China, Canada, South Africa, Britain, France, and the Netherlands. The show will be held on September 29 to 30, October 5 to 6, October 14 to 15, Oct. 19 to 20, October 26 to 27.

Sirius Pyrotechnics will take to the skies once again on October 14th, 2012.

GlobalFest’s Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival 2012

Through a meticulous selection process, teams were handpicked to represent America, the Philippines, Mexico, China, and Brazil; representing the host country with the finale is Sirius Pyrotechnics. This year’s GlobalFest was nothing but spectacular. The show kicked off with a Philippines themed show, the 2011 People’s Choice Award Winner. Each team was given one song, Thunder – From Cirque Du Soleil’s “Totem”, that was mandatory use, meanwhile the rest of the choices were left to the competing teams. With the variations in the countries and their music selections, as well as their style of pyrotechnic material, each team represented themselves, as well as their countries, extremely well.

The finale that was put together was created by Patrick Brault, owner of Sirius Pyrotechnics, whom is known as one of the most renowned designers for fireworks in Canada. In reference to the Finale, Mr. Brault stated “With ‘Eclipse’, I’m creating a metaphor of the personal, non-linear cycle of life. It’s made of pleasure, success, and spirituality but also destruction and regrets”.

Taking home the top prize for this year was Pyrotecnico, the USA representative. Pyrotecnico’s full throttle, high energy show set to American Pop and Rock N’ Roll, “Pops in the Park,” took the skies and thrilled the audiences at Elliston Park in Calgary, Canada, winning the “Best of Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival”.

Join us for the first-ever fireworks competition in the nation! See teams from the US, Canada and Mexico compete for best display, plus a stunning finale by Rozzi! It’s 4 fireworks shows in one night!

It’s never been done before, and it may leave you breathless…but on Saturday, September 22, the USA’s first-ever fireworks’ competition will rock the night sky over Lake Como in the inaugural “Fire Up The Night” international fireworks’ challenge, presented by Dr. Pepper.

The event will pit the USA vs. Canada and Mexico in a best-of-the-best fireworks’ extravaganza for international bragging rights.

The winner will be determined by a 5-judge panel and audience vote. Each show will be judged on such things as presentation, structure and scale, colors, originality and music synchronization.

Competitors in the world-class event will be:

Alonzo Fireworks (Albany, New York, USA)
Sirius Pyrotechnics (Montreal, Canada)
Lux Pirotecnia (Mexico City, Mexico)

And, following the international competition, Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks will fire up the night in a thundering finale not to be missed.

L’International des Feux Loto-Quebec

The Montreal International Fireworks Competition, known officially as L’International des Feux Loto-Quebec, is upon us again and this year there are new competitors, old favourites and an homage to everybody’s favourite firecracker, Freddy Mercury.

Participating countries in one of the world’s most renowned fireworks displays include Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Portugal, France, Italy, United States and Greece- a new addition to Montreal’s International Fireworks Competition. From June 30 to August 3, the displays will take place on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and each event will be inspired by a particular theme.

Japan kicks off the festival on June 30 and rightfully so, as the Japanese have been constructing fireworks since the 10th century. And, for obvious patriotic reasons, you’ll want to look up on July 14 when Canada’s Sirius Pyrotechnics (the same firm that took care of the fireworks for 2010’s Vancouver Olympic Winter Games) present a show called Eclipse that was inspired by the cycle of life, from darkness to light.

GlobalFest announces their 10th Anniversary Event with Sirius as Fireworks Organizer

Big news will be unveiled regarding this year’s Festival programming. GlobalFest’s new Fireworks Director, Patrick Brault (most recently known for designing the pyrotechnics for the 2010 Winter Olympic Opening & Closing Ceremonies in Vancouver), will announce the participating countries and fireworks teams in this year’s Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival. We will also make known the compulsory pyromusical piece required for each country to incorporate into their nightly presentation and the song’s special significance to Calgary events for 2013.

GlobalFest has made every effort possible to ensure that this year will be the organization’s biggest and grandest year of programming.
